Dementia Consultancy & Coaching to Improve Care, Staff Confidence, and Outcomes
Dementia Consultancy & Coaching Services
Expert Dementia Consultancy & Coaching for Health, Social Care
& Community Organisations
I provide specialist dementia consultancy and coaching to support NHS services, care homes, and community-based organisations (including private and voluntary sector providers), as well as individuals entering, transitioning into, or developing their careers in dementia care through continuing professional development (CPD), to improve the quality, confidence, and consistency of dementia care.
My work is grounded in a cognitive, psychological, and social approach to dementia care, focusing on understanding the person behind the condition and strengthening how individuals and teams respond to complex emotional, behavioural, and relational needs in everyday practice.
Rather than simply delivering knowledge, I support the translation of evidence-based dementia understanding into practical, person-centred actions that improve real-life care experiences — particularly in situations involving distress, communication difficulties, and complex support needs, while also supporting professional growth and career development in dementia care practice.
Areas of Specialist Expertise
My consultancy and coaching services integrate cognitive, psychological, and social frameworks to support meaningful practice change across organisations, healthcare professionals, and individuals entering or transitioning into dementia care, as well as those engaging in continuing professional development (CPD) to develop and progress their careers in the field.
-
Supporting staff, individuals entering or transitioning into dementia care, and professionals engaging in continuing professional development (CPD) to better understand how memory, perception, and thinking are affected in dementia, and how these changes influence behaviour, communication, and decision-making in practice.
-
Supporting confident responses to emotional distress, anxiety, trauma responses, and behavioural expressions of unmet needs through person-centred and compassionate practice
-
Strengthening the social environment of care through improved relationships, communication styles, and interaction quality between staff, individuals entering or transitioning into dementia care, CPD learners, families, and wider communities.
-
Working with a wide range of organisations — including care providers, community groups, charities, and voluntary services — to embed dementia-aware practice, improve inclusion, and strengthen community-based support pathways.
-
Supporting individuals who are new to dementia care, changing careers, or progressing within health and social care roles through CPD-focused coaching and development.
This includes building confidence, strengthening core practice skills, and supporting progression into more specialist or leadership roles.
